“Dear Dr Harman,
Thank you for the best dental experience I’ve had since leaving Australia. I am happy with the treatment I am getting for the first time since coming to the UK.
All the best
Helen D”

After working in the City of London for 10 years treating patients from all over the world I deliver dentistry that is truly world-class. It had to be to keep the most demanding of patients happy. You can experience the same high level of dental care in Tunbridge Wells now I have moved out of London for a more relaxed life style of Kent.

Protocol for Tooth Whitening Top-ups if your teeth are sensitive (with 10% Carbamine Peroxide gels)
Use tooth whitening gels only on prescription from your dentist as part of your agreed overall treatment plan.
- Teeth should have had a recent scale & polish to make certain there is no “tartar” blocking the whitening peroxide gel treatment (as it could make teeth dark around the base of the teeth near the gum and between them.)
- You should have had a full oral examination by your dentist in the last 12 months.
- If you have any painful teeth you should consult your dentist before whitening your teeth.
- Brush your teeth thoroughly before whitening your teeth and if the gums bleed consult your dentist before whitening the teeth. (Swollen bleeding gums will give you a dark “tide Line” around the edges of the teeth when the swelling goes down.)
- Use a de-sensitising toothpaste for 1 week before you whiten your teeth, rubbing the paste into sensitive areas of exposed dentine on the biting edge and at the gum line.
- Use only 10% carbide peroxide gel (mild gradual release gel)
- Consider a 2 hour application during the day instead of overnight (Delivers 70% of the effect)
- Do one application every 2 months rather than 2-3 application on consecutive days every 6 months
- If your teeth are very sensitive use “Tooth Mousse” in trays for 30 mins every day for a week before you bleach and then immediately afterward for 30 mins (Available from The Harman Clinic)
- If in doubt do not top-up your whitening and consult your dentist.
- Do not use tooth whitening products if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
This blog was prompted by one of my patients and I hope this will be useful to you.

Smile Makeover Introductory Offer £2995 - 40% off until 1 Nov 2011
Created in Switzerland & brought to the UK by Dr Oliver Harman

Do you hate your smile but think you can’t afford a Harman makeover then think again!
For a very limited time Dr Harman is offering “Componeers” for the amazing introductory price of £2995 for eight veneers and professional tray whitening a 40% reduction on the guide price of £5015.
”Componeers” from Switzerland are the very latest in cutting edge dental products bridging the gap between minimally invasive composite bonding and porcelain veneers and has the added benefit of being faster to fit so a smile makeover can be done in just one appointment.

With “Componeers”, quality aesthetic restoration of anterior teeth can be performed efficiently in just a single session. Until now the dentist could only choose between a directly modeled composite restoration and elaborate indirect veneer technology. The Direct Composite Veneer System adds a new and interesting dimension to existing treatment options and gives dentists and patients new economic perspectives. Patients can be given a naturally aesthetic smile in just a single session.
The pre-shaped “Componeer” veneers are available in different sizes and are easy to use for single-tooth reconstruction as well as complete reconstruction in the anterior region. Time consuming forming of the anatomical shape and surface and elaborate trimming are no longer required. However “Componeers” can be customised to individual requirements with composite bonding at any time.
· Beautiful teeth in 1 appointment
· Minimally invasive removal of healthy tooth substance: Ultrathin at as little as 0.3 mm means that minimal or no real tooth has to be removed. Often no injections are required!
· Reduced treatment stress for nervous patients – Fitting “Componeers” typically takes about 65% of the time composite bonding takes leading to shorter less tiring appointments
· Fully Customisable for a natural individual look
· Modifiable & Repairable result so if they chip or break they can be repaired or if you decide you want to change the look they can be altered later on.
· High Surface & Edge Quality- greatly reduced staining compared to traditional bonding
· Bleach tooth shades available unlike other systems.
· Economical - Compared to indirect porcelain solutions they are typically about half the cost
